Summary of the project

A comprehensive sustainability transformation was successfully implemented at the guesthouse. An in-depth assessment of operational processes was conducted, identifying key areas for improvement in waste management, energy efficiency, water conservation, and eco-friendly product usage. Based on these findings, targeted sustainability measures were introduced.

A formal operations manual was developed, outlining standardized procedures for check-in/check-out, housekeeping, and service delivery. Green practices, such as reducing plastic use, promoting recycling, and integrating eco-friendly cleaning products, were embedded into daily operations. Staff members underwent training to ensure smooth adoption of these sustainable practices.

The manual was fully implemented, and sustainability practices became an integral part of daily operations. Ongoing monitoring and staff feedback ensured that environmental impact remained minimal while maintaining high service standards.

New nature-based and culture-based tourism products were successfully developed and launched to engage both tourists and the local community, with a strong focus on youth involvement. These experiences were designed in collaboration with local guides, artisans, and community members. Offerings included guided nature walks, wildlife tours, village visits, and hands-on cultural activities such as traditional cooking classes and handicraft workshops. The Bokneti Youth and Community Hub was established as a multifunctional space for festivals, events, and educational programs.

Curated packages were introduced, combining cultural and nature-based experiences. Special initiatives targeted youth engagement, including adventure camps and environmental education programs. Strong partnerships with local leaders ensured that the tours were both beneficial for visitors and contributed to community development.

This successful implementation reinforced the region’s commitment to responsible tourism while creating meaningful opportunities for local participation and economic growth.
