CATALOGUE OF BEST PRACTICES ON SUSTAINABLE TOURISM IN THE MEDITERRANEAN

The Mediterranean region, a top global destination for coastal and marine tourism, faces significant environmental and social challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted a reevaluation of tourism models in the area. Plan Bleu, through the Interreg MED Sustainable Tourism Community, produced a best practices report to guide sustainable tourism development in the Mediterranean. This catalogue showcases eight successful examples of sustainable tourism practices incorporated into various policy levels. Aimed at decision-makers and local communities, it emphasizes replicability and transferability to promote sustainable development in Mediterranean coastal zones. For SMEs, this resource offers practical insights and strategies for adopting sustainable tourism practices.
