Summary of the project

Gostišče Mašun is a family-run inn where three out of four employees are family members. The staff undertakes various tasks, including cooking, serving, room cleaning, maintenance of the entire premises, upkeep of the surrounding area, repairs within the facility, preparation of biomass for heating, customer interactions and reservations, issuing invoices, partial accounting management, and more. The inn is entirely decorated in a forest-hunting style, offering comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, single, double, and triple accommodations. Gastronomically, they specialize in preparing dishes made from game meat, making them recognizable throughout Slovenia and in other countries. The unique offering needs to be further promoted through the website, advertising, and other means. They also offer other types of meat and ensure options for vegetarians, vegans, and individuals with health issues. Most of the food is locally sourced, promoting healthy, organic choices and collaboration with local farmers and residents. Due to the inn's location in the midst of forests, organic waste is deposited in an organized underground landfill with an iron cover to prevent access by wild animals. The surroundings of the inn are well-maintained, with outdoor tables and benches for service during warm months. There is a mini-golf course, a Forest Educational Trail, and a neighboring facility houses an interactive exhibition titled "Big Beasts and Their Forests," organized by the Institute of Forestry of Slovenia. The inn encourages a healthy lifestyle and collaborates with the local Tourist Information Center (TIC) to provide rental and delivery of electric bikes. They also have some regular bikes available for guest use. The area around the inn offers ample opportunities for active cycling, hiking, mountaineering, and running. As part of their development towards active vacationing, they plan to set up a bike storage facility. Currently, reservations are accepted via phone or email, but they aim to implement an automated online reservation system in the future. The restaurant has partial accessibility for disabled individuals, but the rooms are not fully accessible, requiring additional funding for improvement. They are also establishing an outdoor stand where individuals from the Sheltered Employment Center, including people with special needs, can sell their products. Additionally, as a new and enriching feature, they are constructing an outdoor wildlife observation point with wheelchair-accessible facilities.
