Summary of the project
A novel tourist experience centered on discovering the nutritional properties of organic hazelnuts and the environmental benefits of their cultivation has been developed into marketable products targeting diverse customer segments, such as seniors, families, and schools. These products feature hazelnuts as the main focus and include visits to interpretation spaces, crop field tours, and gastronomic workshops highlighting hazelnut-based dishes.
This innovative proposal aims to attract more visitors, both local and European, to the Catalonia region, offering a unique tourist experience not currently available in the Iberian Peninsula. Promotion strategies will emphasize increasing occupancy, particularly during low seasons, by structuring various tourist products, including the new 'Hazelnut Interpretation Space'. The narrative will revolve around themes of land transformation, landscape conservation, environmental synergy, and integration with local products, while also highlighting the nutritional information and health benefits of hazelnuts to generate market interest.
