Summary of the project
The proposed project centers on the development of regionally competitive tourism offerings in the domain of adventure tourism, coupled with global promotional efforts aimed at establishing our country as a highly sought-after tourism destination. A key facet of this initiative involves the creation of an innovative online application, contributing significantly to the growth of tourism in Southeast Europe (SEE). This endeavor is grounded in the identification of two rapidly emerging tourism sectors, namely Dark Sky Tourism (DST) and Green Tourism Scheme (GTS), complemented by the surging global interest in rural tourism and space-related activities, encompassing dark sky observation, astronomy, and anthropography.
Dark Sky Tourism is a burgeoning global travel trend, where travelers journey to remote, light-pollution-free locations to observe celestial wonders such as stars, planets, moons, nebulae, star clusters, and galaxies. It represents an exceptional opportunity to augment the appeal of our national tourism products while elevating the region's allure.
Within the framework of this project, our dedicated team will spearhead the development of a product poised to enhance the overall attractiveness of tourism offerings within our region. This product will not only serve as an immediate draw for tourists but also establish a vital foundation for the subsequent development and promotion of similar ventures. In doing so, we align seamlessly with the overarching objective of this call for proposals, which is to bolster the economic competitiveness and innovation capacity of Montenegro by fostering a synergy between the realms of science and industry.
Our newly created tourism products will be carefully calibrated to align with the dynamic demands of the tourism market. They will be strategically promoted at both the national and regional levels, contributing substantively to the sustainable growth of tourism and the broader economy in the SEE region. Additionally, our project will emphasize stakeholder engagement throughout the project's planning and execution phases, accompanied by capacity-building support. By nurturing national collaboration initiatives and products, we demonstrate our commitment to the core objective of this call for proposals, enhancing the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within the framework of the quadruple helix model. This holistic approach ensures that our project is not only innovative but also economically impactful and socially inclusive.
